ISCA has launched an APP for aspiring Singaporean Chartered Accountants

  • The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) has introduced the Accelerated Pathway Programme (APP), aimed at expediting the journey of accountancy degree students towards obtaining the esteemed Chartered Accountant of Singapore (CA Singapore) designation. This initiative spans a two-year period from April 2024, offering eligible students the opportunity to concurrently pursue the Singapore CA Qualification (SCAQ) professional programme module exams alongside their university studies in accountancy.

Attainment of the CA (Singapore) title necessitates successful completion of the SCAQ, a globally respected program renowned for its contemporary technical acumen and holistic approach fostering internationally-minded accounting leaders. The persistent demand for accounting expertise in Singapore underscores the imperative for a steady influx of chartered accountants to fulfil business requisites. Inadequate financial governance, flawed financial closure processes, or erroneous financial statements pose significant threats to organizational financial reporting integrity, potentially tarnishing Singapore's stature as a premier global business hub.

ISCA is intensifying its efforts to position accountancy as an appealing career avenue for the upcoming generation in response to this talent scarcity. The APP constitutes one such endeavour tailored to support individuals inclined towards an accountancy vocation. This program is strategically crafted to incentivize and assist accountancy students in tackling SCAQ exams during their penultimate and final academic years

Modules within the professional program that do not permit exemptions will be seamlessly integrated into their accountancy curriculum. ISCA pledges comprehensive support, including complimentary revision sessions, to bolster these students' confidence as they undertake the challenge of clearing their professional qualification assessments.
