Through the collaborative efforts of Viva-MTS, the Union of Employers of ICT (UEICT), and the National Polytechnic University of Armenia (NPUA), two auditoriums within the university's 9th building have been transformed into state-of-the-art IoT labs. This initiative marks the continuation of a partnership dating back to 2019, during which 11 auditoriums and a co-working space were established at NPUA, aimed at enhancing educational environments for students and startups.
Viva-MTS has contributed AMD 184 million towards this endeavour. The opening ceremony of these educational facilities was attended by government officials, NPUA's leadership and faculty, Viva-MTS executives, UEICT board members, and other stakeholders.
During the ceremony, RA Deputy Minister of Economy Rafael Gevorgyan emphasized the significance of bridging education and business through infrastructure development and collaborative program implementation to meet evolving market demands. He underscored the role of technology in fostering inclusive economic growth, highlighting the importance of its application across various sectors, which the new centre at NPUA signifies.
Ruben Simonyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry, expressed his delight at the transformation of the educational landscape, reflecting on his personal connection as a former student of NPUA. He praised the partnership between ICT Union and Viva-MTS, emphasizing the necessity of adapting educational environments to align with contemporary needs and innovative technologies. Simonyan regarded the initiative as pivotal in inspiring students and channelling interest towards STEM fields, which he deemed strategically significant for Armenia's development.
