An MBA in International Business, that can be termed as IIFT's flagship offering in India, is included within the long-term vision of the campus. Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said he was optimistic that the Dubai campus would attract students and professionals not only from the UAE but from all around the world, to have valuable training and research in international trade.

The Vice Chancellor, Rakesh Mohan Joshi said, that the strategic location along with the dynamic environment will make Dubai the ideal ground in positioning IIFT as a world-class institution dedicated to cutting-edge research and training. It was established as an autonomous body in the year 1963 under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and has been holding the deemed status of a university ever since then.
