The Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur (IIMU) successfully hosted the inaugural offline edition of D'Future: India Digital Conclave at Lalit Ashok. This one-day event stands as a significant achievement, providing IIM Udaipur with a unique platform to explore the dynamic digital landscape. The conclave featured insightful talks from visionary speakers who engaged with delegates, delving into the country's ongoing digital transformation. Prof. Ashok Banerjee, Director of IIM Udaipur, kicked off the event by addressing the audience. In his speech, he emphasized three recurring themes across all institute programs: sustainability, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation.
Mr. Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa and former CEO of NITI Aayog, delivered a keynote address emphasizing India's remarkable progress in digital public infrastructure. He highlighted the transformative impact of technologies like the Aadhar network, mobile-bank account linkages, and UPI on citizens' lives. Mr. Kant noted that India achieved in just over a decade what would typically take nearly fifty years through strategic investments in digital public infrastructure. Following his speech, Prof. Christophe Bernard, an expert in Epilepsy Studies, discussed the 'Virtual Digital Brain' and its implications for healthcare. Prof. Ventakesh Babu from IISc Bangalore presented on the latest advancements in deep learning, AI image generation, and their applications in self-driving cars, addressing emerging challenges like deep fakes.
Following the presentations, a panel discussion titled "Digital Disruption: India's Emergence on the Global Tech Arena" took place. Moderated by Mr. Rajesh Nambiar, Chairman & Managing Director of Cognizant India, the engaging conversation included perspectives from Mr. Ajay Vij (Country Managing Director, Accenture India), Ms. Daisy Chittilapilly (President, CISCO India & SAARC), and Mr. Ramkumar Narayanan (Executive VP, Technology & Services, FIS India & Philippines). The participants shared insights on diverse topics such as deep tech and digital infrastructure. The D'Future India Digital Conclave, initiated by IIM Udaipur, aimed to reshape discussions on digital transformation and innovation in India. The event sought to collaboratively explore, envision, and influence the future of digital transformation while showcasing India's capabilities on the global stage.
