IFSU and Panpacific University Unite for SDGs in the Philippines

  • Ifugao State University (IFSU) and Panpacific University (PU) have initiated a groundbreaking venture towards academic excellence and sustainability, marking the commencement of a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU). The agreement was formalized between IFSU President Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon and PU President Donna Padilla-Taguiba, to foster collaboration in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiatives across Northern Luzon. This collaboration signifies the commitment of both institutions to advancing sustainable development and academic innovation.

The MoU resulted from a collaborative internationalization meeting, laying the foundation for a strong partnership between the two universities. As outlined in the agreement, IFSU and PU will collaborate on various fronts, including hosting SDG-related discussions, conducting capacity-building activities, engaging in research initiatives, and implementing community outreach programs. This joint effort aims to harness the strengths of both institutions to make a meaningful impact on the communities they serve, addressing challenges outlined in the SDGs.

Expanding the scope of this partnership, the MoU encompasses diverse academic areas. This includes faculty and student research exchanges, collaborative research and extension projects, and the sharing of academic resources. The agreement also involves the mutual sharing of Quality Assurance best practices, internationalization initiatives, and sports development engagements. Beyond enhancing academic cooperation, this pact underscores the significance of quality standards in higher education institutions, particularly in North Luzon.

IFSU President Codamon-Dugyon, expressing her enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasized the shared core values of service, creativity, and pioneering initiatives between the two universities. She highlighted the potential of this partnership to elevate both IFSU and PU's global standing in higher education excellence. PU Vice President for Internationalization Engelbert Pasag underscored the need for initiatives under this agreement to align with the core values of both institutions, ensuring the success and direction of the cooperation.
