Honors Granted to Vietnamese University for Boosting Laos' Human Resource Development

  • The Laos Friendship Medal has been awarded to seven university employees. SiSouk Vongvichit, the Deputy Minister of Education and Sports for Laos, remarked during the award ceremony that the university's engagement with its Lao partners promotes to the creation of human resources, which in turn helps Laos' socioeconomic growth. He stated, it also serves the purpose of establishing and fostering friendship, collaboration, and unity between the two nations.

    Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province, praised Cuu Long University's initiatives aimed at improving training quality, which had an advantageous impact on regional and local universities' education and training. She further commended the institution for partnering with Laos in the fields of education, research, technology transfer, and exceptional human resource training.

    In 2015, Cuu Long University worked to uphold and strengthen the history of solidarity, collaboration, and friendship between Vietnam and Laos with several other schools and institutions in the country. Ten important collaborators in Laos are now members of the institution. Cuu Long University joined Laos to construct the UCL-IICT Vietnamese Friendship Training Center in Vientiane and assisted Laos create an innovative community model in Thongmang Village, Xaythany, the capital city. Over 500 Lao pupils have registered in post-graduate, university, or Vietnamese language study courses at the institution thus far. The institution delivers lecturers to Laos to instruct Vietnamese and works with Lao authorities to set up cultural exchange events.
