HITS & Global Cyber University Expand MoU for Education & Culture

  • As Hindustan Institute of Technology(HITS) strengthens its international ties, the University renewed and expanded its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Korea's Global Cyber University(GCU). The event was held at the Apgujeong Seoul Learning Centre and is said to be the next phase of their collaboration in carrying out credit exchange programmes for 'Brain Education Meditation' courses, so far. The two will now operate under a new three-year agreement that promises more comprehensive cultural exchange initiatives and a global brain education center in India.

The agreement, signed between GCU President Gong Byeong-yeong and HITS Chancellor Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, builds upon a successful partnership initiated in December 2020, marking a significant milestone in Indo-Korean educational collaboration. Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor of HITS, said", Our journey with Global Cyber University since 2020 has been remarkable, demonstrating how international collaboration can create meaningful impact in education and humanitarian efforts. The establishment of a global brain education center in India represents our commitment to bringing cutting-edge educational approaches to our students".

President Gong Byeong-yeong of Global Cyber University said, "I hope that the two universities can actively engage in more advanced exchange activities such as joint seminars on the direction of higher education in Korea and India in the AI era, sustainable Earth and the future of humanity, in addition to the credit exchanges".

A timely collaboration, this partnership marks an important milestone with K-culture gaining prominence in India. Meaningful co-operation is already visible through co-organizing international conferences on future education during the COVID-19 pandemic and in humanitarian assistance activities during India's second wave in 2021.

This augurs well, where delegation visits and epitomize places of outstanding culture such as K-pop promotion centre 'POP-KON' and the Ilchi Art Hall that became famous as it hosted the debut showcase for BTS. The splendid cultural prosperity underpinning this ongoing academic and cultural exchanges between India and South Korea has been told through these visits. It is a significant step forward in further strengthening ties between the two nations.
