Harvard-Yenching Institute Visiting Scholars Invite for 2025-26

  • The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, has been extended an invitation by the Director of the Harvard-Yenching Institute for its Visiting Scholars program. As per the invitation, the University has the privilege to nominate up to 04 candidates from among potential lecturers participating in the program.

    As stated in the invitation letter from the Director of the Harvard-Yenching Institute, for the 2025-2026 academic year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is to nominate a total of 04 candidates from among its lecturers to enrol in the Visiting Scholars program.

    Aligned with the mission of the Harvard-Yenching Institute, nominated scholars must specialize in the humanities and social sciences with a cultural emphasis, focusing primarily on academic rather than applied research. Preference is given to scholars engaged in comparative research that encompasses one or more Asian countries.

    The scholarship covers tuition for candidates at the National University of Singapore, followed by a year of research writing at Harvard University. The application deadline is set for September 15, 2024. Prospective applicants are required to submit their applications through the Harvard-Yenching Institute's online application system. 

    Additionally, candidates must be nominated by their respective universities where they are employed. Comprehensive information regarding the program, including details on eligible disciplines, selection criteria, research proposals, letters of recommendation, interviews, and the selection process, will be provided to applicants.
