HAFA and Quaid-i-Azam University Partner to Enhance Art and Cultural Exchange

  • The Hebei Academy of Fine Arts (HAFA) and Quaid-i-Azam University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster bilateral cooperation in the fields of art, history, and archaeology. This partnership aims to enhance cultural exchange and educational collaboration between China and Pakistan.

As part of the agreement, the two institutions plan to establish the China-Pakistan Institute, which will offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. Additionally, the MoU outlines plans for student exchanges, visiting scholars, and short-term study trips, according to a report by China Economic Net.

Zhen Zhongyi, President of HAFA, and Niaz Ahmad Akhter, Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University, expressed their optimism about the future of this collaboration. They emphasized the importance of art education in building mutual understanding and fostering friendships between different cultures.

The partnership is expected to significantly contribute to the development of art and cultural exchanges not only between China and Pakistan but also on a global scale. HAFA has previously shown a strong commitment to collaborating with Pakistani universities in art education. In 2022, the academy signed an agreement with the University of Education Lahore to establish a culture education cooperation and exchange center.

Currently, HAFA and the University of Education Lahore are offering joint programs in Art Theory and Cultural Heritage. The 2023 China-Pakistan Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibition and China-Pakistan Culture, Art and Education Exchange Forum were also held by HAFA in collaboration with the University of Education Lahore and Lahore Museum.

This new partnership with Quaid-i-Azam University is expected to further strengthen cultural ties and promote art education between the two countries.
