GETEX 2024 Commences with Involvement of More than 200 Universities

  • Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), officially launched the Global Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX), a highly anticipated three-day event aimed at student recruitment. The ceremony was attended by key figures in education, including Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, and Provosts from major universities in the region. Under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, GETEX is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from April 24th to 26th.

    GETEX covers a wide range of study streams, from emerging careers to traditional fields, focusing on areas like computing, technology, medicine, sciences, leadership, and future career paths. With over 200 universities from 30 countries participating, offering nearly 2,500 courses, the event is expected to attract over 20,000 visitors. GETEX promotes international collaboration and educational advancement through its innovative programs and networking opportunities.

    Aisha Abdulla Miran emphasized KHDA's commitment to empowering students in their higher education decisions. She invited visitors to explore the KHDA stand to learn about the diverse international higher education options available in Dubai. With 38 licensed and accredited universities offering over 650 programs, Dubai is increasingly recognized as a hub for quality higher education in the region, attracting future leaders and fostering innovation.

    The event's highlights include the Academia Industry Innovation Conference, themed ‘Educating Future Leaders and Innovators,’ with a focus on artificial intelligence. Alongside workshops, seminars, and discussions, activities like an AI hackathon, startup showcase, youth career counselling, internship fair, innovation awards, and roundtable discussions are planned. Over 30 seminars on higher education will guide students toward their academic goals. Overall, GETEX serves as a crucial platform for students and the higher education sector, promoting informed decision-making and facilitating collaboration and innovation in education.
