FWD Group and Junior Achievement Boost Financial Literacy in Vietnam

  • FWD Group Holdings (FWD) has unveiled the expansion of its acclaimed financial literacy program, JA SparktheDream, into Vietnam. Created in collaboration with Junior Achievement (JA), this program combines financial, social, and life skills education to enhance students' financial literacy. The expansion also focuses on equipping key adults in students' lives, such as parents and teachers, with the necessary financial literacy concepts and skills to better support students' growth.

The launch of the expanded JA SparktheDream program was celebrated today at a business community luncheon in Ho Chi Minh City. This event was part of a delegation visit to Vietnam led by The Hon Mr. John KC Lee, GBM, SBS, PDSM, PMSM, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, and organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Professor Frederick Ma, GBS, JP, Chairman of the Board of Directors at FWD Group, was present with the business delegation and signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of the Group.

Mr Binayak Dutta, Managing Director, FWD Group, said, "Through JA SparktheDream and its specially designed cartoon characters – Master Earn, Smart Spender and Super Save – we've made financial education relatable and fun for students. The next logical step is to extend financial education to the key role models in students' lives, like parents and teachers, which will widen and deepen the community benefit more broadly".

Mr Maziar Sabet, President and CEO of JA Asia Pacific, said, "Through the JA SparktheDream programme, we aim to build a generation of financially empowered children, capable of making informed decisions that benefit not only themselves but also the broader society. Junior Achievement Asia Pacific is honoured to work with a community-centered partner such as FWD in realizing our vision to create a world in which young people have the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities".
