Fulton Science Academy has revealed plans for expansion, announcing the establishment of a new school on Jeju Island, South Korea. Named Fulton Science Academy Atherton and located within the Jeju Global Education City, the institution aims to accommodate approximately 1,350 students by September 2026. Notably, Jeju Island is one of South Korea's two special self-governing provinces, and the Global Education City was established by the Korean government in the early 2000s to retain local students.
In collaboration with AIS Global, a Korean investment firm, and ISC Research, an international education consultancy, Fulton Science Academy, headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, intends to develop a prominent international school offering education from kindergarten to 12th grade. The curriculum will integrate science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and humanities. In preparation for this venture, Fulton Science Academy has established Global Education Management and Services to manage programs at the new institution.
A significant milestone in this endeavour was reached on March 21, with the approval of the school's plan by the Jeju Office of Education. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in 2021 as a National Blue Ribbon School, Fulton Science Academy is accredited and certified in STEM education. Kenan Sener, CEO and head of school at Fulton Science Academy expressed excitement about the expansion, emphasizing the institution's commitment to global educational excellence.
CEO of AIS Global, Sang Yoon, views the collaboration as a meaningful effort to advance education, highlighting a shared dedication to innovation and excellence. Yoon emphasized pride in contributing to the creation of a learning environment poised to shape the educational journeys of future generations.
