FPT introduces the Automotive Software Engineering (ASE) department to enhance university education for future engineers. Developed in collaboration with FPT Automotive and FPT University, this initiative addresses recent advancements in automotive technologies and aims to cultivate high-quality human resources for the growing global automotive sector. Students enrolled in the ASE department at FPT University will gain a comprehensive understanding of basic automobile design principles, operations, and specialized skills in designing, developing, and testing software and embedded systems for automobiles. This includes areas such as vehicle operation control systems, energy control systems, safety features, and advanced driver assistance systems.
The ASE department's curriculum aligns with recommendations and standards from international institutions, including the United States Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) for undergraduate IT programs, AQAS (The Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs), ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accreditation for educational programs, as well as international standards for functional safety in the automotive industry and automotive cybersecurity. In the rapidly evolving automotive sector, there is a demand for professionals possessing comprehensive expertise in both automotive engineering and digital technology. Their roles necessitate a blend of skills, experience, and adaptability that is not easily replaceable by AI.
"Compared to global markets, Vietnam's resources in automotive technology still need further enhancement through increased investment and focus. The collaboration between FPT University and the esteemed FPT Automotive represents a crucial step in establishing a robust talent pool and expertise in this field. This partnership offers promising prospects for young individuals interested in automotive and technology, providing them with opportunities to refine their skills and thrive on the international stage", stated Dr. Tran Ngoc Tuan, Vice Rector of FPT University. The signing ceremony took place during the FPT Automotive Techday 2024, where business leaders and automotive tech experts gathered to exchange insights and discuss the latest industry trends.
