Elsewedy Academy aims to Make 20,000 Students Job-Ready

  • The Elsewedy Electric Academy has set an ambitious goal to increase its student body from 6,000 to 20,000 within the next four years, as announced by Ahmed Elsewedy, the Chairperson of the Elsewedy Electric Foundation's Board of Trustees. This initiative is a strategic response to the growing demand for skilled technical workers. Around 10% of the academy's graduates secure positions within the company, while the majority are highly sought after by other businesses in Egypt, underscoring the quality of education provided.

Ahmed Elsewedy also highlighted the crucial role of technical education, noting the increasing support from Egypt's Ministry of Education for such institutions, which play a vital role in bridging the skills gap in the job market. The academy boasts a comprehensive educational framework aligned with global standards, with a focus on hands-on experience. About 80% of training takes place on-site at factories and affiliated enterprises, while the remaining 20% consists of theoretical instruction at the academy, covering 15 distinct disciplines. Plans are in progress to expand the academy's presence to the Delta regions, complementing its existing campuses in Cairo and Alexandria.

Over the past decade, the academy has successfully established four schools in Sharqia, Menoufia, and Port Said governorates, graduating over a thousand students. An impressive 80% of these graduates have secured employment across various industries. The Elsewedy Technical Academy offers a wide range of specializations, including logistics, electrical maintenance, construction-related electrical work, mechanical operations, diesel and heavy machinery maintenance, energy components such as cables and transformers, electrical pathway construction and maintenance, plastic machinery operations, electronics, iron and steel production, pharmaceuticals, printing, packaging, and industrial programming.
