Education Minister inaugurates 'Educational Content Studio' in Egypt

  • Under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, the Ministry inaugurated "The Educational Content Studio" at the Professional Academy for Teachers. This initiative, part of the "Technology-enabled Open School Systems for All" project, was launched on the International Day for Digital Learning.

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Zainab Khalifa, Director of the Professional Academy for Teachers, highlighted the significant strides made by the academy in advancing teacher professional development. These endeavours, conducted in partnership with UNESCO and Huawei, were instrumental in ensuring the success of the project. Dr. Khalifa commended the support and dedication of Dr. Reda Hegazy in establishing the academy as a UNESCO second-category centre. She also praised his efforts in enhancing its institutional performance, broadening its international outreach, and bolstering its regional influence through collaborations with relevant institutions and organizations.

Dr. Zainab noted that the launch of the studio bolsters the "Technology-enabled Open School Systems for All" project in Egypt, Ghana, and Ethiopia. The project aims to develop, test, and expand open school systems connecting schools and home-based education, ensuring continuous and quality learning experiences. It addresses educational challenges by integrating digital learning platforms and content aligned with the curriculum and teachers' digital competencies while promoting open education models through national digital learning policies.

Furthermore, Dr. Zainab emphasized the academy's commitment to a targeted plan for continuous growth among education staff, enhancing their academic and professional capacities. This includes tackling educational issues related to teacher preparation and development in Egypt and the wider Arab world. Additionally, the academy seeks to facilitate the exchange of scientific and professional expertise among practitioners and researchers in teacher training, qualification, and administrative leadership, aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030.
