The signing ceremony held at the University of the Philippines BGC solidified collaborations between the Second Congressional Commission on Education (Edcom 2) and key partners including the Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI), The Asia Foundation (TAF), and the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB).
"These partnerships are essential to making Edcom 2's mission in education reform and policymaking successful. Organizations like The Asia Foundation, Metrobank Foundation, and DLS-CSB have proven to be invaluable partners in our three-year mission to uplift the quality of our education system", Edcom 2 Executive Director Karol Mark Yee said.
"The pursuit of education reform is a shared responsibility, and we are grateful for the support of partners who share their expertise and resources to help us succeed. As the Edcom 2 continues to perform its mandate, we look forward to a productive collaboration with The Asia Foundation, the Metrobank Foundation, and DLS-CSB that will lead to the formulation of landmark education reforms", Edcom 2 co-chairman Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian said.
Witnessing the event were Representatives Roman Romulo and Mark Go, alongside Commissioners Representative Kiko Benitez and Senator Sonny Angara. MBFI is set to collaborate with Edcom 2 by leveraging its network of exemplary teacher awardees from the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos program.
The Asia Foundation is committed to collaborating with the commission in crafting and executing workshops focused on decentralization and participatory governance. DLS-CSB joins forces with Edcom 2 by spearheading multimedia initiatives aimed at spotlighting the experiences and narratives of teachers and students via short films and social media content orchestrated by its students and faculty. "We thank our partners for making the commitment to lift up the quality of education in the Philippines. Through these partnerships, you attest to your continued hope in our education system", Yee said.
