Dr. Dhruv Galgotia Advocates for Global South Empowerment at THE Asia Universities Summit 2025

  • In a significant representation of India’s growing role in global education, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, participated as a featured panelist at the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia Universities Summit 2025, held in partnership with the Macau University of Science and Technology.

    The summit, themed around the advancement of higher education in Asia, brought together thought leaders from across the world. Dr. Galgotia spoke in a high-profile session titled “Empowering Research Growth: Can the Global South Keep Up with Research Superpowers?” alongside academic experts including Victor V. Ramraj (University of Victoria), Mai Har Sham (The Chinese University of Hong Kong), and Ts. Dr. Praveena Rajendra (Taylor’s University).

    Addressing the global audience, Dr. Galgotia emphasized the urgent need to democratize research access and collaboration. “For true innovation to flourish, we must democratize access to knowledge and resources not just within institutions, but across countries and communities”, he said. “Our mission is to create an inclusive ecosystem where students and scholars from all backgrounds are encouraged to question, explore, and innovate”.

    He highlighted Galgotias University’s investments in world-class research infrastructure, international partnerships, and faculty development all aligned with India’s National Education Policy, which champions a research-driven academic landscape.

    Dr. Galgotia’s participation signals India’s rising influence in shaping global academic dialogue and underscores Galgotias University’s commitment to fostering research excellence that transcends borders, empowering not only India but the broader Global South.
