Coursera Rolls Out AI-Powered Learning Solutions to Enhance Indonesia's Digital Skills

  • Coursera, the global online learning platform, is setting innovative AI-powered learning solutions in Indonesia that will transform the process of learning altogether. The platform offers promising solutions that ensure engagement and interactivity with regard to skill development for its students as well as the educators.

Three of the AI-powered tools are being launched, which include the Learning Assistance Coach, Career Guidance Coach, and the Interactive Instruction Coach. All these resources were developed with a view to help the students and the teachers in the development of the required skills .

This tool, Learning Assistance Coach, met the needs of the Indonesian students as well as that of the educators. For example, the teacher will be availed of virtual assistants offering valuable feedback, answers as well as video content summaries in the Indonesian language.

Career Guidance Coach This is suited for the student who would like to test various careers and, hopefully, find out which skills will successfully apply in practice. It offers learning recommendations personalized and based on given objectives.

Interactive Instruction Coach The instructional strategies of the teachers can be modified in conjunction with assessment using this feature. This tool uses Google's state-of-the-art language model, Gemini, to transform instructional approaches.

Raghav Gupta, Managing Director of Coursera Asia Pacific, mentioned another very important growth indicator: Indonesian-language content on the platform; this increased from 2,000 to now 4,700 courses over the past year.

Gupta also announced a new partnership with the Pre-Employment program in supporting the Indonesian government in developing a workforce that will support future requirements in this digital age. Coursera is also engaging with institutions of this nature, such as BNI, BCA, and Indonesia Cyber Education (ICE), to achieve this.

"The efforts by the Indonesian government to prepare workers for the digital age inspire us, and we are committed to being one of its key partners", said Gupta.

Denni Puspa Purbasari, Pre Employment's Executive Director, emphasized the necessity of higher quality resource education for the staff who would be working to improve the skills of individuals. She is very hopeful that through Coursera, they can better cope with rising labor market demands and contribute towards a brighter, more inclusive future.

"This is all a continuous mission because the skills will keep changing. Together, we'll face it and make an even brighter future", Purbasari said.
