CINEC Campus, a prominent player in the higher education sector in the region, has recently introduced a range of aviation professional training courses to prepare individuals for exciting careers in the aviation industry. These new programs come with cutting-edge infrastructure, including a simulation airport classroom facility, practical training facilities for cabin crew, and a highly experienced lecture panel. The campus has meticulously examined and aligned the programs with the requirements and standards set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), ensuring that the infrastructure adheres to international regulatory standards. CINEC currently offers an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program, which is approved by CAASL. This program leads to a BSC (Hons) in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering conferred by the University of South Wales and a BBA in Airline and Airport Management conferred by Lincoln University College in Malaysia.
The Learjet at CINEC is equipped with operational engines and systems, offering technician students a hands-on learning platform for various aircraft maintenance tasks. This aircraft serves as a valuable tool, enabling students to acquire practical skills and hands-on experience in inspecting, repairing, and replacing different aircraft components, as well as troubleshooting maintenance-related issues. CINEC's "Simulation airport classroom" facility is meticulously designed to provide students with an immersive and realistic learning experience, incorporating cutting-edge technology. This facility replicates a simulated airport environment, allowing students to learn and practice diverse aspects of airport operations. Additionally, it ensures that students are well-prepared for the intricacies of airport operations, including on-the-job training with airlines.
CINEC has partnered with POS Aviation in Malaysia to provide comprehensive ground handling training services, encompassing a broad spectrum of ground handling functions such as aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), aircraft charter, and ground handling services. Certified by the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) of Malaysia and a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), POS Aviation ensures that CINEC trainers have acquired the requisite skills and knowledge through the relevant certification process. The ongoing development of the Cabin mock-up facility at CINEC replicates an aircraft cabin, complete with all necessary equipment and safety protocols. This facility enables students to undergo thorough training in various areas, including emergency procedures, customer service, first aid, and inflight services.
