Chinese Company to Launch Education and Vocational Training Center in Uzbekistan

  • A Chinese company is poised to set up an education and vocational training center in Uzbekistan, as per by a news agency.

An online meeting was held with the support of Uzbekistan's Consulate General, bringing together the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Migration Agency, and the Chinese company JC Finance Interconnect Holdings.

Discussions focused on developing retraining and advanced training programs aligned with international standards for specialists in Uzbekistan. Key fields include green energy, agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), and tourism.

The parties also explored the possibility of allocating grants for Uzbek students at leading Chinese universities and selecting candidates for these opportunities. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached for representatives of JC Finance Interconnect Holdings to visit Uzbekistan.
During the visit, discussions with the relevant ministries and departments will take place to support the creation of the education and vocational training center.

In January 2025, China continued to be Uzbekistan's top trade partner, with trade reaching $994.7 million (22.1% of total trade). Although this is lower than the $1.14 billion reported in January 2024, it is still a notable increase compared to the $549.3 million recorded in 2023.
