Chennais Amirta International Aviation College, renowned in the Hotel Management industry and celebrated for its Culinary Olympics triumphs, is now pioneering a transformative initiative in Aviation education. The institution, which has successfully placed 25,000 candidates, is responding to the growing need for skilled aviation professionals. India has 137 airports, with Chennai alone requiring 3,000-4,000 skilled workers, contributing to a nationwide demand of 411,000 aviation professionals.
In a strategic expansion, Chennais Amirta is partnering with the prestigious University College of Aviation, Malaysia. This collaboration offers a two-year program at Chennais Amirta's Mount Road campus, followed by a final year in Malaysia. Students will undergo six months of classroom education at the University College of Aviation and six months of internship at Malaysian airports. This program, detailed in the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), enables students to gain practical skills and international experience.
Chairman R. Boomenathan highlighted the uniqueness of this collaboration, emphasizing that Chennais Amirta is the first to provide such international training opportunities during studies. The MOU signing, attended by dignitaries from both institutions, marks a significant step in elevating aviation education. Prof. Dr. Captain Ab Manan Bin Mansor and other Malaysian partners praised Boomenathan's innovative approach, noting that this partnership would provide students with crucial international exposure.
Additionally, the program includes value-added services such as grooming, language training in Hindi and English, international ticket booking, and IATA training. Students also have opportunities for part-time jobs in India, earning between 8,000 and 15,000 INR per month. This comprehensive program is designed to equip students with the skills, global perspectives, and hands-on experience necessary for successful careers in the dynamic aviation industry.
