CelcomDigi Metaversity revolutionizes higher education by integrating state-of-the-art technologies like the metaverse, extended reality (XR), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and 5G into its immersive learning modules. Through these advancements, students are provided with interactive digital learning experiences within a virtual realm, empowering them to acquire practical skills and deepen their technical proficiency in sought-after competencies.
The immersive learning modules present opportunities for students to apply their skills and generate innovative solutions across diverse industry sectors including healthcare, engineering, robotics, cybersecurity, and beyond. Upon completion of the immersive learning course, students will receive a metaverse certification accredited by VIRNECT and XRA. CelcomDigi's Metaversity has introduced numerous use cases across multiple faculties in collaboration with six local universities, spanning virtual museums, medical teaching hospitals, automotive manufacturing, robotics, cybersecurity, and oil and gas engineering.
CelcomDigi Metaversity is a joint effort with the Ministry of Higher Education, inaugurated by Mustapha Sakmud, Deputy Minister of Higher Education. CelcomDigi and the Ministry of Higher Education are working together to promote and implement advanced metaverse, extended reality (XR), and artificial intelligence (AI) learning and educational solutions across 21 universities throughout the country.
A total of 10 universities namely Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UTM), Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), MAHSA University, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), have also pledged their commitment to adopt CelcomDigi Metaversity's immersive learning modules. As the preferred connectivity provider for these universities, CelcomDigi will support fibre connectivity and a range of digital IoT solutions to aid in the transformation journey of these tertiary institutions.

The inception of CelcomDigi's Metaversity initiative took place in September 2023, marked by a partnership with VIRNECT and XRA to pioneer experiential learning and education utilizing the Metaverse for Malaysian universities. This collaboration with local universities aims to cultivate graduates equipped with industry-relevant skills in metaverse applications, transcending conventional knowledge and learning paradigms. It seeks to expedite the development of Malaysia's future talents in AI-driven digital advancements.
