AUS and SNOC join hands to Enhance UAE Engineering Education and Research

  • The College of Engineering (CEN) at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) and the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) have collaborated through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). As part of the AUS Engineering Al Nukhba Programme, SNOC will assist in the training of AUS students by offering required internships for graduation. This hands-on experience aims to complement their academic learning and provide practical insights into the oil and gas industry. Additionally, the partnership involves joint supervision of specific student capstone projects, encouraging innovation and enhancing practical problem-solving skills among the students.

Furthermore, SNOC experts will contribute valuable insights in essential areas crucial for the professional development of the students. The collaboration also sets the stage for collaborative research and development initiatives, leveraging the academic expertise of AUS alongside SNOC's industry experience to address critical challenges in the sector. Dr. Fadi Aloul, the Dean of the AUS College of Engineering, emphasized the significance of this partnership with SNOC in enhancing the educational journey of engineering students. This collaboration builds on a strong existing relationship, with SNOC's ongoing financial support for various innovative research projects providing students with exceptional opportunities for real-world experiences and research. Dr. Aloul highlighted the pivotal role of this partnership in the professional development of students, offering a unique platform to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
