Atlas Axillia, Education Ministry Unite to train Preschool Teachers

  • Atlas Axillia Co. (Pvt) Ltd has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education to provide standardized professional training for preschool teachers in early childhood development. This initiative aims to revamp the Sri Lankan education system by equipping educators with specialized skills for early childhood education, ultimately fostering a future-ready youth for the country.

Early childhood is a critical period for learning essential life skills such as sociability, environmental awareness, and acts of kindness and compassion. Well-trained preschool teachers are crucial for the proper development of children during these formative years. Recognizing this, Atlas is committed to spreading awareness and creating comprehensive training programs throughout the island, empowering both current preschool teachers and those aspiring to join the profession.

Atlas Axillia Co. (Pvt) Ltd Managing Director, Asitha Samaraweera, emphasized the company's dedication to innovative educational approaches. He stated, "Our goal is to create a better future for each student through consistent innovation in education. By collaborating with the Ministry of Education, we aim to support preschool teachers in need of guidance and raise awareness about early childhood development."

The Director General of the Ministry of Education, Prasad Setunga, highlighted the timely nature of this initiative. "The Ministry is currently implementing a training and awareness program tailored for preschool educators to ensure optimal early childhood development. This initiative is not just a duty but a national necessity," he said. Setunga expressed gratitude to Atlas for their crucial support in making this program a success.

Atlas Gurudharu, the preschool teacher awareness and training program, is part of Atlas’ broader teacher-child social care initiative. This program is seen as a significant investment in the nation's future, with the potential to greatly impact the educational landscape and contribute to the long-term development of Sri Lanka.
