Aquila School gains Accreditation as International Baccalaureate

  • The Aquila School, a member of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), has been officially accredited as an IB World School. Starting in August, the school will offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP).

These prestigious international programmes are designed to challenge and inspire students, equipping them with the global education skills necessary for success in university and the workplace.

Wayne Howsen, Principal of The Aquila School, commented, "As part of ISP, we are fully dedicated to customizing our education to help today's students become resilient and responsible citizens of tomorrow. The Aquila School has always been a leader in providing holistic quality education through academically challenging programmes. The introduction of the IBDP and IBCP will further our mission to prepare our talented students, with the support of our dedicated staff, to acquire the skills needed for future success."

Achieving IB accreditation means that the ISP school has met the rigorous standards established by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), showcasing a commitment to delivering high-quality international education. This ensures that students enrolled in the IB Diploma Programme have access to a globally recognized curriculum, internal and external assessments, and opportunities for both personal and academic development.

Lindsay Thomas, IB Coordinator at The Aquila School, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "We are thrilled to begin offering both the IBDP and IBCP. Our diverse range of subject options provides students with various future pathways, leading to their chosen universities and beyond. The IB's internationally-minded ethos aligns perfectly with our current school values, emphasizing skills like research, critical thinking, and effective communication."
