American University Offers Global Leader Scholarship to International Students

  • The Emerging Global Leader Scholarship at American University in Washington, DC is now open for applications. This scholarship is available to two international students who require a non-immigrant visa to study in the United States. It covers all expenses, including full tuition, accommodation, and meals.

    The scholarship aims to provide its recipients with access to education and opportunities by fostering academic excellence, leadership development at the university, and global engagement. Please note that the Emerging Global Leader Scholarship 2025 does not cover non-billable expenses such as airfare, taxes, mandatory health insurance, books, or additional costs.

    To be eligible, candidates must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 4.0 for grades 9 through 12 and provide evidence of dedication to community service, leadership, and volunteerism. Additionally, they must demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact in their home country and be on track to graduate by June 2025.

    Applicants must also meet specific English language requirements, including an IELTS score of 7.0 or higher with subscores of 6.0 or higher, an SAT reading subscore of 33 or higher, a PTE score of 65 or higher, and a Duolingo score of 125 or higher with subscores of 115 or higher. Alternatively, a Cambridge Assessment English score of 185 or higher with subscores of 169 or higher, an ACT score of 29 or higher, or an SAT Digital version score of 630 or higher will be accepted. Additionally, a TOEFL exam score taken after May 31, 2017, with subscores of 24 or higher on the paper-based exam is required.

    To apply, the application must be submitted via either the Coalition Application or Common Application, ensuring all required documents are attached. Complete and submit the AU Declaration of Finances Form (AU DFF) and provide a bank letter confirming a minimum balance of US$4,000. Both the AU DFF and the bank letter should be included with your application. Additionally, the application portal should be checked regularly to ensure any additional information or supporting materials are required for your scholarship application.
