Alliance University to Host ALF 4.0: Celebrating 'The Asian Century'

  • Alliance University is going to host the fourth edition of the Alliance Literary Festival (ALF 4.0), a three-day literature, culture, and intellectual dialogue event from February 13 to February 15, 2025. The theme for this year is 'The Asian Century,' which speaks about Asia's immense influence on global culture, politics, economy, and art. The festival will provide an exceptional platform for literary enthusiasts, academicians, policymakers, diplomats, and cultural connoisseurs to engage in insightful discussions and immersive experiences.

The festival will feature more than 120 speakers from over 25 countries. Some of the notable personalities include Javed Akhtar, Indian screenwriter and lyricist; Asako Yuzuki, Japanese author; Palki Sharma Upadhyay, India's voice for the Asian Century; Anil Kumble, cricketer; Sanjay Patel, Pixar animator and Oscar nominee; Rajdeep Sardesai, renowned Indian journalist; and Perumal Murugan, prominent Indian author.

Dr. Anirudh Sridhar, Dean of Thought Leadership at Alliance University, stated that the theme reflects Asia's resurgence as a dominant economic and cultural force in the world. "Hosting this festival in Bangalore, a city at the forefront of this transformation, underscores our commitment to fostering intellectual dialogue and cultural celebration", he said.

ALF 4.0 salutes Asia's age-old legacy of innovation, storytelling, and wisdom-from the ancient philosophical texts to the present-day narratives. ALF will explore the rise of Asia as a global powerhouse while striving toward the mission of Alliance University in positioning Bangalore as India's intellectual capital, promoting a hub for art, culture, and ideas.
