Alibaba Cloud and Universiti Malaya (UM) recently revealed a new collaboration to develop the Alibaba Cloud Academic Empowerment Program (AAEP). This program focuses on cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) education for UM students and educators.
The AAEP is a worldwide educational initiative aimed at providing schools and students with access to Alibaba Cloud's resources in cloud computing, data intelligence, and cloud security. It collaborates directly with accredited universities and other educational institutions to offer resources and tools to educators, students, and researchers.
Sean Yuan, Regional General Manager of Indonesia and Malaysia at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, emphasized the importance of a proactive approach to foster a digital future. He expressed delight in welcoming Universiti Malaya as a valued partner in the AAEP, Alibaba Cloud Skills Centre, and their first internship program in Malaysia. Yuan praised UM's forward-thinking initiatives and commitment to empowering learners and educators, believing that the partnership would better position them to gain digital insights and capitalize on opportunities in an increasingly digitalized world.
UM students will have access to Alibaba Cloud Academy through the AAEP program. This includes 300 online and offline certification courses, 16 certification courses, and 250 online hands-on labs from over 300 global partners. The program also offers access to Alibaba Cloud Academy’s cloud computing and e-learning resources through seminars, special guest lectures, and interactive workshops.
Simultaneously, UM and Alibaba Cloud introduced the "Future Star" internship program, the first of its kind from Alibaba Cloud in Malaysia, with UM as the pioneering university. Lasting between 3-6 months, UM interns will work with Alibaba Cloud to understand various roles available in the cloud computing company. The Alibaba Cloud Academy Skill Centre at UM serves as a one-stop hub where students can log in and access all available content from Alibaba Cloud Academy.
