Al Falasi emphasizes MoE's commitment to Education Sustainability

  • Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, the Minister of Education, emphasized that President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's decision to prolong the Year of Sustainability into 2024 reflects the UAE's strong dedication to sustainability. It underscores the leadership's commitment to rallying global initiatives against the climate crisis and environmental conservation, with the goal of ensuring a brighter future for future generations.

    Dr. Al Falasi stated, "The landmark agreement at COP28 set new standards for worldwide climate action. This agreement entails the pursuit of a global consensus through clear and practical measures to tackle the climate crisis and foster sustainable social and economic development for all. As we move into 2024, the UAE aims to leverage its extensive international relationships to establish collaborations, strengthen cooperation, and transform agreements into sustainable projects and initiatives that bring benefits to all."

    He further mentioned, "In the Ministry of Education, we are dedicated to embedding sustainability within our educational framework. This involves educating students, improving educators' skills, and establishing a sustainable infrastructure. Our primary objective is to actively contribute to fostering a sustainable societal transformation. We aim to share our knowledge and resources with other nations, assisting them in integrating climate education and sustainability into their educational systems. This commitment is rooted in our belief that addressing environmental and climate challenges necessitates global collaboration and collective efforts to bring about the needed transformation."
