AIU Signs MoUs with Vietnam to Enhance India-Vietnam Educational Ties

  • AIU is delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Vietnamese Universities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This agreement aims to enhance international collaborations between Indian and Vietnamese universities, fostering increased mobility for both faculty and students between the two countries.

India, renowned for its millennia-old tradition of knowledge and learning, has a rich history of scholars and Buddhist monks, including those from Vietnam, journeying thousands of miles to Takshashila, the sacred site of Buddhism, in pursuit of wisdom. Today, India remains committed to sharing its development experiences and expertise with partners, including Vietnam.

It has provided over 200 scholarships and training courses to students through bilateral aid mechanisms. India has also supported several facilities for schools in Vietnam. The Indian government helped Vietnam establish the Vietnam-India English Language Training Center (VICELT) in Danang in 2007 and donated a high-performance computer to Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2013.

Universities from both countries collaborate on student exchange programs, educational counseling, and career guidance. Last year, the Embassy partnered with Vietnam National University – Hanoi to organize an education fair, fostering knowledge exchange between top Indian and Vietnamese institutions.

The two governments also cooperate in many other areas, including technology, agriculture and security. In 2011, thanks to India’s support, Hanoi opened the Center for Advanced Resources for Information Technology. India also provided US$150,000 to support the establishment of the Indira Gandhi Hi-Tech Crime Lab. Experts from Vietnam National University – Hanoi and Indian educational organizations also delivered presentations on Vietnam-India educational collaboration, the National Education Policy of India, and shared learning experiences.
