Agoda Partners with MHESI to Upskill Students in Thailand

  • Agoda, Asia's leading digital travel platform, has formed a strategic partnership with Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation (MHESI) to upskill students throughout the country. The partnership aims to educate students on the application of technology in real life in corporate settings while encouraging further education and career opportunities in the tech industry.

    With MHESI, through the signing of an MOU, Agoda will engage its technology experts to prepare tomorrow's tech leaders to excel in the sphere of technology. Among some of these initiatives proposed is improvement in technology education which will further help strengthen the country's technology sectors.

    Varuntida Varutbangkul, Vice President of Product at Agoda, said: "We are thrilled to partner with MHESI in nurturing the next generation of tech leaders in Thailand. As a global organization with operations based in Thailand, we feel it's important to give back by investing in local talent and sharing how technology can empower businesses".

    The partnership was signed at the 6th edition of Agoda Tech Camp Day, held at Panyapiwat Institute of Management in Nonthaburi. This initiative is designed to offer in-depth tech workshops that make learning both fun and engaging for students. Over the course of six editions, Agoda has reached the milestone of fostering a passion for technology in more than 2,000 students. Held over two days, this edition introduced a new curriculum focused on teaching students how to utilize AI as a learning companion.

    The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM Thailand) recently recognized Agoda Tech Camp Day with the Ambassador's Special Award at the AMCHAM Thailand Corporate Social Impact Awards for empowering and creating resilient communities through education, upskilling, and entrepreneurship.

    Wannee Nonsiri, Inspector-General, MHESI, said: "This partnership with Agoda is a testament to our commitment to advancing technological education and innovation in Thailand. Together, we will create a brighter tomorrow for our future generation and the industry all together".

    Agoda Tech Camp Day is an on-going tech-focused social impact initiative aimed at inspiring and upskilling the next generation of tech talents and enthusiasts across Thailand. Featuring a curriculum uniquely curated by the company's software engineers based on real-world scenarios, it equips participants with critical thinking and essential skills for success in professional settings.
