Abu Dhabi Institution Reveals Innovative Education Strategy

  • The Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) revealed its new educational strategy during the Education First Forum in Abu Dhabi. Themed 'A Future Ready College of Education,' the strategy aims to shape the institution's future and the UAE's education ecosystem through high-quality academic programs. The strategy focuses on an 'Educators Competency Framework,' emphasizing values, knowledge, and skills to support educators' professional growth.

    At the Education First Forum's second edition, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) under 'From Ask to Action,' ECAE introduced the strategy. Attendees explored career opportunities and personalized development options like graduate programs, micro-credentials, and short courses. Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, and Chair of the Board of Trustees of ECAE, highlighted the strategy's pillars: educational excellence, lifelong learning, research and innovation, and global and local impact.

    Al Amiri, delivering the keynote address, emphasized the strategy's development in collaboration with teachers, school principals, experts, decision-makers, and local/international partners. The programs will be 60% practical and 40% theoretical, focusing on enhancing the skills of new teachers. The goal is to produce competent and qualified national leaders in education for the UAE's future. The collaborative effort demonstrates the magnitude of the college's commitment to this cause.

    Dr. May Al Taee, Vice Chancellor of the Emirates College for Advanced Education, stated that the strategy results from dedicated teamwork, extensive collaboration, and a shared vision for education, highlighting the commitment to advancing the teaching profession in the UAE. The Education First Forum included insightful sessions and a presentation outlining key research outcomes conducted with Cambridge. The study focused on indicators and expected scenarios shaping the future of education. The forum saw the participation of 45 specialists, including school principals, educators, teachers, school students, and parents.
