South Korea Offers 100% Tuition Fee Coverage Through New Scholarship Program

  • The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) of South Korea is now accepting applications for the Seoul Tech Scholarship 2025. This scholarship targets students in the fields of science and engineering, offering them the chance to pursue a master's degree at top universities in Seoul. The initiative aims to attract talented individuals from around the world to contribute to South Korea’s growing research and development sector. Interested applicants must submit their applications by the deadline of March 14, 2025. This opportunity provides full support for tuition and living expenses, making it an ideal choice for ambitious students seeking advanced education in a leading global technology hub.

    The Ministry of Education, Government of India, will not be involved in the nomination or selection process for candidates applying for the Seoul Tech Scholarship 2025. The final decision on selected candidates will be made by the donor country, South Korea. Those chosen will begin their master's programs in September 2025, with the final results of the selection process being announced in July 2025.

    Scholarship Benefits:

    • Full Tuition Coverage: 50% of the tuition fees are covered by the Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG), while the remaining 50% is funded by the university.
    • Living Expenses: A monthly allowance of KRW 1,000,000 to support living costs.
    • Flight Ticket: A one-time economy class flight ticket to South Korea.
    • Health Insurance: Coverage for the actual health insurance premiums for the previous month.
    • Post-Graduation Support: Assistance with finding employment or starting entrepreneurial ventures in Korea after completing the graduate program.

    Eligibility Criteria

    - Age: Applicants must have been born after 1985.

    - Education: Applicants should have graduated or be expected to graduate with a bachelor's degree in science or engineering from one of the top 100 Indian universities, according to the latest NIRF rankings.

    - Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.

    Grade Requirements:

      - Percentage: 80% or higher, or top 20% of the class.

      - CGPA: Minimum 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, or 3.23/5.0 (based on GKS criteria).

    - Language Proficiency: Courses are taught in English.

    Participating Universities:

    - Kyung Hee University 

    - Korea University 

    - Kwangwoon University 

    - Seokyeong University 

    - Seoul National University of Science and Technology 

    - University of Seoul 

    - Sungkyunkwan University 

    - Sookmyung Women's University (for female candidates only) 

    - Soongsil University 

    Apostille Process: The original signed application form, along with supporting documents, must be apostilled in India and sent via post or courier to the Embassy of India in Seoul.

    Selection Process: The selection will be conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Scholarship Foundation. The Embassy of India, Seoul, has no role in it.
