Bossjob Partners with TESDA-NCR to Boost TVET Graduates' Employability

  • Bossjob, the leading chat-first career platform for professional hiring in Southeast Asia (SEA), has entered into a strategic partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR) to enhance the employability of technical vocational education and training (TVET) graduates. Aligned with TESDA-NCR’s initiative, CollaboraTVET: Forging Partnerships for TVET Excellence, Bossjob will provide specialized training programs tailored to the needs of TESDA graduates, alongside exclusive job opportunities and career development resources.

“The CollaboraTVET initiative, emanating from the program of TESDA Secretary Suharto ‘Teng’ Mangudadatu, underscores our dedication to fostering strategic alliances, particularly with private industries. Our primary objective is to ensure that our TVET programs are finely attuned to meet the evolving demands of these industries”, TESDA-NCR Regional Director Engr. Jovencio Ferrer, Jr. said. The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony on March 20 at the TESDA Complex, Taguig City. This step signifies a pivotal move in aligning professional hiring practices with workforce needs, leveraging Bossjob’s innovative technology and TESDA’s comprehensive training programs to address the skills gap in the Philippines.

“We are honored to embark on this groundbreaking partnership with TESDA, a collaboration that resonates with Bossjob’s core mission to revolutionize the professional hiring landscape in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines. This collaboration is about forging an ecosystem enriched with our innovative tools and programs where TESDA graduates can flourish and significantly contribute to the country’s economic prosperity. We are committed to working hand in hand with TESDA to ensure that our programs are finely tuned to the evolving needs of the workforce and the industries we serve. We are excited to set forth on this journey in ensuring that with every step we take alongside TESDA, we are guaranteeing success for every TESDA graduate and, by extension, bolstering the economic fabric of the Philippines”, Bossjob Country Manager Kimberly Chen said.

Focused on empowering individuals through skills development and employment opportunities, the partnership concentrates on competency standards development, training, assessment, and the establishment of industry boards to create job opportunities for TESDA-NCR graduates. "At TESDA, we recognize the significant role played by employment generators within the TVET ecosystem. Our esteemed partners serve as our primary source of insight, articulating their knowledge essential for modern workplaces. This embodies our commitment to Area-Based and workforce requirements, thereby enabling us to equip our learners with the requisite skills and Demand-Driven (ABDD) TVET, reflecting TESDA’s vital role in shaping a workforce prepared for the challenges of the 21st century”, Engr. Jovencio added.

Bossjob and TESDA share a vision of connecting the Filipino workforce with meaningful career opportunities. Last year’s data revealed high levels of engagement and successful matching rates, highlighting the platform’s potential to elevate the career prospects of TESDA graduates. In addition to its technological advancements, Bossjob actively engages with communities, facilitating job opportunities through events like the 2nd Filipino-Chinese Job Fair in October 2023, where over 1,000 job opportunities were offered by leading Filipino and local Chinese companies.

With a growing presence in Asia, including the Philippines, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, Bossjob aims to reach over 30 million users in SEA by 2026. As part of its global expansion efforts, it now offers free services to users. The partnership between Bossjob and TESDA-NCR signifies a commitment to bridging the gap between TVET graduates and career opportunities, fostering economic growth and prosperity in the Philippines.
