The Education Ministry will host a 'live lesson' on Oman TV for GED students

  • The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, is launching a dedicated television program on Fridays for students pursuing the general education diploma (GED) in Oman. The Department of Communication and Media within the Ministry of Education has partnered with Oman TV, operating under the Ministry of Information, to air the 'Lesson on Air' program for GED students enrolled in the first semester of the academic year 2023-24. The ministry has confirmed that Oman TV will broadcast the program until January 24.

The inaugural episode will commence with a comprehensive session addressing the specifications of exam papers, a crucial strategy for student preparation. The interactive session aims to familiarize students with the correction process, essential rules, and regulations to be followed during exams, providing practical advice to alleviate anxiety and stress. Subsequent episodes on Saturday and Monday will focus on advanced mathematics, while Sunday's episode will cover basic mathematics. The program is scheduled to address the Arabic language in its episode on January 13.

In the second week of the program, episodes will address subjects such as social studies, chemistry, geography, modern technologies, and another chemistry session. Following this, the program will delve into physics, English language, biology, and history in subsequent episodes of 'Lesson on Air'. The primary objective of the program is to support Grade 12 (GED) students in approaching exams with confidence. This will be achieved through guidance from various supervisors and subject-specialized teachers. Students can engage with experts and seek answers to their questions through phone calls, emails, or the program's social media accounts. Officials have conveyed that the program will commence at 4 pm and last for an hour and a half.
