Terumo Asia Holdings has officially launched its 'Terumo Asia Skill Lab' at its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore, coinciding with the relocation to a new, expanded facility. This initiative marks a significant milestone for the company, which has celebrated over 50 years of presence in Singapore, and aims to redefine the future of healthcare in the region through innovation and collaboration. The new eco-friendly facility is designed to foster growth and teamwork among healthcare professionals.
The inauguration was attended by notable guests, including H.E. Hiroshi Ishikawa, the Japanese Ambassador to Singapore, and Jacqueline Poh, Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board. During the ceremony, Clarence Chua, Senior Vice President and Head of Japan and Korea at the EDB, emphasized the importance of Terumo's presence in Singapore, highlighting its role as a key player in the local economy. He stated, “Japanese companies like Terumo have been an important partner in Singapore's economy, undertaking activities that span from Regional Headquarters to Innovation Centres”. Chua noted that the new investment underscores Singapore’s reputation as a trusted hub for medtech innovation and talent development.
The Terumo Asia Skill Lab aims to bring together local and international healthcare professionals, offering them opportunities to exchange expertise and collaborate on research initiatives. Leveraging Singapore's strategic location, the Skill Lab invites healthcare professionals and biomedical students from across the region to participate in masterclasses and workshops. This initiative seeks to promote cross-border knowledge sharing and standardize best practices, ultimately elevating healthcare standards in the region.
