The Medical Oncology team at the NCCCR within Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has just concluded its first Masterclass in Medical Oncology. This was a significant undertaking in oncology education and practice, bringing together the country's top experts, clinicians, and academics to discuss and deliberate on the latest developments and advancements in cancer treatment and care strategies. The masterclass featured an impressive lineup of key speakers from various oncology subspecialties who shared their insights on the latest research, innovative treatments, and multidisciplinary approaches to cancer management. Attendees engaged in rich discussions on evolving techniques and evidence-based practices that can improve patient care across the spectrum of oncology. The event was chaired by Dr Salha Bujassoum al-Badr, chairperson of Medical Oncology and Palliative Care Medicine and clinical associate professor at the Medical College, Qatar University. Her leadership was instrumental in shaping the agenda of the masterclass aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of medical professionals in Qatar and the wider region. The programme included sessions focused on clinical advancements, interactive case discussions, and hands-on learning experiences. Feedback from participants highlighted their appreciation for the knowledge shared, emphasising its potential impact on improving patient outcomes in cancer care. Dr al-Badr stated, “This masterclass is a significant step forward in fostering collaboration and raising the standards of oncology care in Qatar and beyond.
