OAZisCare Empowers Patients Through Health Education and Digital Support in Thailand

  • Docquity, Southeast Asia's largest community of healthcare professionals (HCPs), collaborated with global biopharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca to introduce OAZisCare, an extensive digital patient support program (PSP) to improve cancer treatment and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine education and compliance in Thailand.

Established in 2024, OAZisCare provides comprehensive support for patients and caregivers through the blending of on-the-ground medical expertise with digital innovation. In just twelve months, the program has already distributed educational materials to hundreds of thousands of users and effectively enrolled eligible patients into its program of adherence.

Fueled by DocquityCare, the patient solutions business of Docquity, the platform utilizes data-driven, secure omnichannel solutions to enhance patient education, medication adherence, and affordability three cornerstones of quality healthcare access in the region. The program is overseen by a cross-functional team of HCPs, educators, content creators, and technology experts.

By its website and focused social media engagement, OAZisCare provides a variety of educational resources including articles, videos, and podcasts that encourage more comprehensive care for cancer patients. The program also initiated RSV vaccine awareness campaigns in reaction to a seasonal increase in RSV infections, especially among children in Thailand. Eligible patients are actively followed up and registered into adherence support systems to maintain continuity of care.

The initiative also underscores Docquity's larger mission of reducing healthcare disparities in Southeast Asia, particularly on the vaccine front. A recent Docquity Pulse Check survey of more than 700 regional physicians found that while 85.4% of doctors reported having patients who would be benefited by vaccines, only 46.1% have a patient who is currently being treated by a PSP. Importantly, 83.9% of doctors listed 'low patient awareness of vaccine benefits' as the biggest impediment to enhanced immunization rates.

"Technology innovations enable us to democratize patient information on key treatments and enhance access to them like never before", noted Christophe Meugnier, Chief Commercial Officer and General Manager of Vietnam & Thailand at Docquity. "With DocquityCare, we are leveraging our own proprietary insights and platform technologies to address key healthcare challenges everything from cancer and rare diseases to low adherence and vaccine-preventable diseases across Southeast Asia".
