Maldives to adopt culture-based education: President

  • President Mohamed Ibrahim Solih has recently launched the 'Dhonbandaarain Handhaanee Marukaz', an innovative cultural and heritage center located in Hulhumale, as part of a collaborative effort between the Presidency and the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Heritage. This center serves as a platform for Maldivian artists to showcase their talents and preserve the nation's cultural heritage. With state-of-the-art facilities, it offers a space for artists to engage in various cultural activities and express their creativity. The center is strategically designed to not only provide a platform for current artists but also to ensure that future generations can connect with their heritage and gain insights into the rich cultural history of the Maldives.

    During the opening event, President Solih emphasized the importance of institutions like these in fostering and advancing the cultural history of the country. He highlighted the crucial role that such centers play in providing chances for upcoming generations to connect with and participate in their cultural heritage.

    The creation of the Dhonbandaarain Handhaanee Marukaz is a key component of a comprehensive campaign aimed at fostering cultural awareness and education in the Maldives.
