Emirates Oncology Society Honors MSD Gulf as Medical Education Partner of the Year

  • MSD GCC, a leading global biopharmaceutical firm, has been honored with the prestigious 'Medical Education Partner of the Year' Award by the Emirates Oncology Society (EOS). This recognition signifies MSD's steadfast dedication to advancing healthcare through the creation of innovative multidisciplinary educational initiatives. The award presentation occurred during the fourth annual Emirates Oncology Society conference held from September 22nd to 23rd. This significant event was conducted under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

    Professor Humaid Al Shamsi, President of the Emirates Oncology Society, expressed satisfaction in acknowledging MSD's unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare through the creation of pioneering educational programs. He highlighted MSD's dedication, emphasizing their contributions to elevating healthcare standards and outcomes for both patients and the medical community. Professor Al Shamsi emphasized the society's anticipation of continued collaborative endeavors with MSD to further progress various facets of the healthcare industry.

    The award acknowledges MSD's dedication to enhancing the healthcare sector and patient welfare through the development of distinctive and innovative initiatives like 'Angels,' aimed at providing nurses with the necessary skills to efficiently manage immune-related adverse events. Additionally, MSD's 'UpToDate' program serves as a valuable evidence-based clinical resource, assisting healthcare professionals in accessing information on various medical topics, treatments, and medications to deliver high-quality patient care.

    Another initiative, 'Link MdT', concentrates on fortifying Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) practices in the Gulf region by establishing connections between Lung cancer MDTs and their counterparts in other countries. Through this program, MSD facilitates collaboration and knowledge exchange, significantly contributing to enhancing patient care quality and expertise in managing lung cancer.
