YTL International College of Hotel Management (YTL ICHM) has collaborated with Dong Zong (United Chinese School Committees' Association of Malaysia) to provide exclusive scholarships and career opportunities for Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) students. This partnership is aimed at nurturing young talent and providing globally recognized educational pathways in the hospitality industry.
Datuk Mark Yeoh, executive director of YTL Hotels, highlighted the importance of the initiative by saying that it marks a very important moment for Malaysia's education sector. "By combining YTL ICHM's hospitality expertise with Dong Zong's commitment to academic excellence, we are providing transformative opportunities for students to excel in the hospitality field", he said during the signing ceremony.
Scholarships will not only provide financial assistance but also job opportunities through placement in YTL Group's luxury hotels. On the other hand, YTL ICHM will be holding open days on January 18, 19, 25, and 26 to showcase its programs for prospective students and their families.
Dong Zong president Datuk Tan Yew Sing also appreciated the support given by the government to 63 independent Chinese high schools in Malaysia, amounting to RM20.16 million. This agreement aims to reinforce the interconnection between education and vocational upgrading in Malaysia's bustling hospitality sector.
