The 14th Edition of the Indian Management Conclave (IMC) was successfully held and hosted by XLRI Jamshedpur in collaboration with MBAUniverse.com. Centered on the pivotal theme, “Identifying Contemporary Roles & Competencies for Reshaping MBA Programs”, the two-day event brought together prominent leaders from academia, industry, and consulting.
A key highlight of IMC 2024 was the inaugural International Research Conference (IMC-IRC), where 50 out of 150 submitted research papers were chosen for presentation. This first-of-its-kind initiative infused the event with academic rigor, providing a platform for innovative ideas on management education. The event saw the participation of over 200 Deans, Directors, and thought leaders from prestigious institutions like IIMs, XLRI, SPJIMR, and MDI, alongside CXOs from top companies including ITC, Uber, and Axis Bank.
The event opened with a keynote address from Dr. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, and an international keynote by Alexandre de Navailles, Director General of Kedge Business School, France. Other notable speakers included Pawan Bhageria, President of Global HR & Education at Tata Technologies, and Geoff Perry, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at AACSB International.
The event featured panel discussions on the evolving roles within consulting, IT, banking, and financial sectors, with insights from prominent leaders such as Richard Lobo from Tech Mahindra, Rajkamal Vempati of Axis Bank, and Atrayee S Sanyal from Tata Steel. Additionally, a Director’s Roundtable brought together nine academic leaders to discuss how B-schools can better align MBA programs with the changing needs of the industry.
The Valedictory Session, led by Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India & South Asia, concluded the event with the announcement of the IMC Awards for Excellence in Management Education and the IMC IRC Best Research Paper Awards.
