Saudi Arabia has launched a new initiative to attract students and researchers from all over the world to study in Saudi universities and benefit from the various academic curricula offered by the country's colleges, universities, and institutes. Education Minister Yousef Al-Benyan opened the forum on the "Study in Saudi Arabia Initiative," which was attended by ambassadors, diplomats, and representatives from international organizations.
The forum will highlight the initiative's details as well as an accompanying exhibit that will look into the possibilities for bringing exceptional students from around the world to study in Saudi universities. Saudi Arabia, according to the Minister, is a major destination for scientific research and innovation, and the unlimited support provided by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has helped to ensure a unique and sustainable research environment.
Al-Benyan invited the Kingdom's ambassadors and diplomats to investigate educational opportunities and various academic programs in order to open the door to collaborations with distinguished researchers from various fields. He also mentioned that enrolling in academic programs at Saudi universities allows international students to benefit from new curricula and advanced facilities, as well as opportunities to interact with people from different cultures and enjoy new experiences and educational journeys. "Welcoming students, researchers, and interns from all over the world to Saudi higher education institutions is an important part of the kingdom's strategy to develop the educational sector and strengthen its international standing." It also helps to achieve the fourth sustainability goal (good education), as well as increasing student flow from all over the world and promoting scientific and cultural exchange," he explained.
Al-Benyan also discussed the importance of the Arabic language as a universal language and how Saudi Arabia is the ideal place to learn it and explore its rich cultural heritage. Economic shifts in the world have positioned the Kingdom among the fastest-growing economies, resulting in opportunities for technical and vocational development in a variety of sectors, including oil and gas renewable energy, technology, and business. Saudi universities have hosted over 74,000 international students and graduated over 140,000 students from 160 countries in various specialties and academic levels, who benefited from the kingdom's exceptional educational level and high-quality outputs.
According to Dr. Sami Al-Haisouni, director of the Ministry of Education's scholarships department for non-Saudi students, the "Study in Saudi Arabia Initiative" reflects the Kingdom's commitment to providing the best opportunities in the fields of education and cultural exchange for international students. He went on to say that the Kingdom has paid special attention to supporting and empowering international students who have chosen it as their educational destination.
