Prof Gulrez greeted Mr.Peters Chen (Assistant Representative & Director, Education Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India) and ensured possible partnerships between AMU and TECC. Mr. Peters Chen appreciated the student's performance and accepted the generous reception during his speech at the "Department of Foreign Language" in AMU. He also mentioned that such interactions lay the foundations for future partnerships between AMU and Taiwan. And for the next academic session he told students to apply for the Taiwanese scholarships.
The visit is considered to be the turning point as it was first of its kind with the motive to establish a valuable connection with the TECC of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and explore different paths for potential educational cooperation and cultural relations between the two countries. The spokesperson and Assistant Professor Mr. Md Yasin accentuated about how Taiwan has become an essential destination for Indian nationals to encourage trade links,educational cooperation and cultural exchanges. In his welcome address, Prof. Muhammad Azhar, Dean of the Faculty of International Studies, emphasized on need for such initiatives and explained the further collaboration and cultural contacts.
Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, the former dean of the Faculty of International Studies drew attention on the opportunity Taiwan offers to Indian nationals. The scope for cooperation in joint research, internships and exchange programmes was highlighted by Rakshanda Fazli. A Chinese song was sung by a Chinese language student Aazib Khan and another student of M.A. 1st year. Anas Ali delivered a speech in Chinese. Aliya Khan, a BA final year student expressed gratitude.The programme was conducted by Chinese language students Nazneen Haider Khan and Arshi Mirza. Mr.Udai Singh Kunwar and Mr.Kant Kumar, assistant professors of Chinese, aided to the programme as the co-organizers.
