Raffles International School students, awarded for IGCSE performance: UAE

  • Students from Raffles International School (RIS) have earned the global Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards (OPLA) for their outstanding performance in the highly competitive A Level and IGCSE 2023 summer examinations. Abdul Rehman Rizwan from RIS received the award for attaining the Highest Mark in the World for Advanced Level Mathematics, Gana Elkhapery achieved the Highest Mark in the UAE for IGCSE Biology, and Francesco Felli secured the Highest Mark in the Middle East for Advanced Level Italian. Additionally, students Osama Ateieh, Osama Eliwa, Abdul Rehman Rizwan, Muhammad Hasan Rosyid, and Changwoo Song were recognized with Outstanding Learner Awards for achieving at least three grade A’s in their chosen subjects.

    Abdul Rehman Rizwan remarked, "The healthy competition at school and the support of my close group of friends, who motivated me to work harder, were influential factors. Furthermore, the school's teachers were consistently supportive throughout my academic journey, contributing to my success". In addition, Laura-Elina Andries, a student at Raffles International School, received the Top Score in UAE and secured 5th place globally in AS Art from the Cambridge examination board. This morning, Adam Jama, Senior Regional Representative for the Middle East, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and UAE schools, personally presented the awards to the students. The Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards are conferred upon learners worldwide (excluding the UK) who have undertaken Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, GCSE, International A level, and A level examinations, attaining exceptional results.

    The award recipient competed against numerous students worldwide who undertook the same subject. Congratulating the students, Poonam Bhojani, CEO of Innoventures Education, expressed pride in the remarkable achievements of RIS students who secured these Outstanding Awards this year. She acknowledged the significant accomplishment, considering the intense competition. Raffles International School is managed by Innoventures Education, a prominent private education company in the UAE. These schools have an enrollment of 9,000 students from over 120 countries, with a teaching staff of 1,500 dedicated educators and support personnel from diverse geographical backgrounds.
