Affirming its commitment to promoting sustainability in the field of education, Dr. Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, the Chairman of Abu Dhabi University (ADU), announced strategic collaborations during the 'International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures 2023' in Dubai. Among the five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), ADU joined forces with Sapient Consulting Group Limited and the United Arab Emirates Trade Center. This specific MoU aims to establish the Africa Policy Center in the UAE, functioning as a dynamic platform for research, policy advocacy, and strategic engagement. The centre is set to facilitate collaborative research initiatives involving ADU's students and faculty, alongside African universities and relevant stakeholders.
In addition, ADU entered into four more Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with five esteemed international collaborators. These partners include MAIRE S.p.A, an Italian technology and engineering group, the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Furthermore, ADU formalized a collaboration between the University of Sao Paulo and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Brazil.
The agreements aim to provide students and the broader community with access to advanced sustainable solutions, encourage academic research, facilitate knowledge sharing, and drive innovation. ADU remains committed to equipping faculty and students with cutting-edge resources, facilities, and learning experiences that encourage innovation and contribute to research-driven problem-solving. The university sustains robust international partnerships with prominent academic institutions and both public and private sector entities, holding institutional accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges' Senior College and University Commission (WASC).
