OU Hosts Lecture on the Future of Higher Education

  • Osmania University (OU) recently hosted a lecture on 'The Future of Higher Education: Considerations for Capabilities, Demographics, Operations, and Investment Over the Next 20 Years' organized by the Office of the Dean for Development and UGC Affairs in collaboration with the Office of the Director of IQAC. The session featured Professor Edward Buckingham, Program Director of the Master in Business Innovation at Monash Indonesia, who shared his insights on the future of higher education.

    Professor Buckingham, the expert in innovation and leadership in higher education, presented a visionary talk that caught the imagination of the audience. The lecture had Deans, Directors, Principals, and Heads of Departments from Osmania University, with the focus on universities' need to change with global trends.

    Professor Kumar Molugaram, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University, emphasized the need to be proactive at each step in terms of academic activities, research and resource management if the university wants to continue with its leadership role. He repeated the commitment for a culture of excellence and responsiveness.

    The presentation of Professor Buckingham covered critical issues such as the changing role of universities, the demographic shifts, strategies for efficient resource use, and strategic investments in infrastructure and academic programmes. The lecture was meant to prepare Osmania University for higher education challenges and opportunities over the next two decades.
