Malaysian students shine in the field of Robotics

  • MERAQUE Group, a Malaysian company specializing in robotics solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia. This signifies a significant step towards empowering Malaysian youth through education and skills training in robotics and drone solutions. The MoU establishes a strategic partnership for the advancement of youth skills in drone training workshops, utilizing facilities across all branches of Institute Latihan Kemahiran Belia Negara (ILKBN). In collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, Meraque Academy is a joint initiative involving the Malaysian Air Youth Club, Malaysian Youth Council, and Tenggara Parliament Coordinating Office. The academy's goals emphasize providing exposure to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)/drone industries and fostering community engagement.

The primary goal of Meraque Academy is to establish a strong educational environment that nurtures both interest and professional growth. The academy is open to participants with no specific prerequisites and provides programs developed to instil interest and support career advancement. The academy's dynamic curriculum includes a variety of courses, ranging from two days to a year, covering classroom and field training in subjects like Remote Pilot.

Meraque's Chief Operations Officer, Suria Affandi, considers the MoU signing a crucial achievement in both Meraque's and the government's joint endeavours to position Malaysia as a regional hub for robotics by 2030. Affandi highlights that this collaborative initiative demonstrates their dedication to advancing the next generation of Malaysian youth through state-of-the-art robotics education. Serving as a hub for Malaysian youth interested in robotics, irrespective of their background, Meraque Academy is poised to play a dynamic role in realizing Malaysia's objectives in the drone industry.
