ISD launches a scholarship initiative for high school students: Dhaka

  • A new scholarship initiative at International School Dhaka (ISD) will enable gifted students from various regions in Bangladesh to attend the school at a reduced cost. As the first International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Bangladesh, ISD has introduced this scholarship program in celebration of its 25th anniversary, aiming to provide opportunities to a wide range of students. Applications for terms beginning in January and August 2024 for grades 9, 10, and 11 are currently being accepted.

"We provide outstanding chances for gifted and deserving students to become integral contributors to our growth and future. Recognizing the importance of diversity as an international school, we aim to extend opportunities to families across the country for them to access our world-class learning environment", stated Steve Calland-Scoble, Director at ISD. The scholarships, initially granted for a year, may be extended based on student performance and other criteria. Recipients stand to receive up to a 90 percent reduction in school fees along with a complete waiver of the admission fee.

New enrollees will become part of a global community and receive education based on the IB curriculum. Those who successfully attain scholarships must exhibit leadership skills and a dedication to service learning and extracurricular activities. ISD alumni are recognized for attending prestigious universities globally. The school has recently established partnerships with Barca Football Camp and Rohit Sharma's CricKingdom cricket academy. Additionally, it has collaborated with Carnegie Mellon University, a renowned institution in robotics education. Details regarding scholarships and the application form can be found on the official ISD website.
