Indonesian university representatives paid a visit to AIOU

  • A group of ten senior faculty members from Terbuka Open University, Indonesia, headed by Rector Prof. Dr. Ojat Darujat, paid a visit to Allama Iqbal Open University. In discussions with AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, various avenues to strengthen collaboration were underscored, emphasizing the significance of establishing connections between universities to foster educational development. 

    He also noted ongoing efforts to enhance educational ties with both national and international universities. Dr. Nasir Mahmood highlighted the importance of establishing connections between universities for educational progress, stating, "We are dedicated to strengthening our partnerships with both local and international universities". The Vice-Chancellor suggested various initiatives, including Joint Degree Programs, an Online Faculty Lectures Series, Faculty Development Programs, online student activities, and research projects, aimed at promoting faculty and student exchange programs to facilitate increased collaboration and knowledge exchange between institutions. Dr. Ojat Darujat expressed that fostering educational links between Indonesian and Pakistani universities would contribute to strengthening bilateral friendships.

    He expressed his intention to engage in collaborative efforts with AIOU across various domains to further fortify the relationship. Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Dr Irshad Ahmed Arshad, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, remarked that this visit offered an opportunity for the two universities to share educational insights and research. He added, "This visit will open up new paths for academic progress". Dr. Zahid Majeed, the Director of Academic Planning and Course Production (APCP), provided the delegation with a comprehensive presentation on AIOU's profile and educational services. Dr. Muhammad Latif Gondal, the Director of International Collaboration and Exchange, expressed gratitude to the delegation and mentioned that in accordance with the Vice Chancellor's directives, the office would soon initiate contact with Terbuka University for academic and research collaboration between the faculty.
